EAOC Members Share Money-Saving Tax Credits & Rebates for 2026

This week's EAOC meeting delivered exceptional value as four of our trusted members shared practical ways business owners and homeowners can take advantage of tax credits, rebates, and incentive programs available in 2026. Their presentations demonstrated that with the right planning, members can reduce expenses, improve their properties, and keep more of their hard-earned money.

EAOC Members Share Money-Saving Tax Credits & Rebates for 2026

This week's EAOC meeting was packed with timely information as four of our members presented valuable tax-saving opportunities that can benefit both businesses and homeowners in 2026. From IRS tax credits and retirement strategies to energy-efficient home improvements, attendees walked away with actionable ideas that could translate into significant savings.

Justin Hess – Tax & Financial Group

Justin Hess of Tax & Financial Group reminded members that the IRS may owe them more than they realize. He highlighted several often-overlooked tax strategies that business owners should consider before year-end.

One of the biggest opportunities is the tax credit available for starting a new 401(k) retirement plan. Business owners may qualify for up to $16,500 in tax credits over three years for implementing a retirement plan that benefits both themselves and their employees.

Justin also explained how charitable giving rules have changed, making it more important than ever to be strategic. Donating appreciated stock instead of cash, utilizing Qualified Charitable Distributions from an IRA for those over age 70½, and taking advantage of the new deduction available to standard deduction filers can all maximize tax benefits.

He also discussed the unique advantages of Health Savings Accounts (HSAs)—the only account offering tax-deductible contributions, tax-free growth, and tax-free withdrawals for qualified medical expenses. Used strategically, an HSA can become a powerful long-term retirement planning tool.

Dan Herman – Solar Energy Partners

Dan Herman of Solar Energy Partners shared how California's continued push toward renewable energy creates opportunities for homeowners to reduce utility costs while increasing property value.

As California works toward its goal of 100% clean electricity by 2045, more homeowners are turning to solar energy. Dan explained how Solar Energy Partners provides customized solar solutions by partnering with leading manufacturers and installers. Benefits include lower monthly electric bills, little to no upfront equipment costs for qualifying programs, and increased home value.

Dan also walked members through the straightforward process—from reviewing a utility bill and designing a customized system to permitting, installation, and receiving permission to operate.

Ron Dymek – Dymek's Freedom Plumbing

Ron Dymek highlighted valuable rebate programs available for homeowners replacing older water heaters with high-efficiency equipment.

Members learned that qualifying ENERGY STAR® tankless water heaters replacing traditional tank systems may be eligible for rebates ranging from approximately $80 to $1,500, depending on the program and equipment installed. Ron also shared that additional rebates may be available through Southern California Gas Company, helping homeowners offset the cost of upgrading to more energy-efficient systems while lowering future utility bills.

Ann Schaefer – Schaef-Air

Ann Schaefer concluded the presentations by discussing rebates available for high-efficiency heating and cooling systems.

She explained that homeowners may qualify for Southern California Gas rebates ranging from $200 to $1,000 on eligible high-efficiency heat pump systems. In addition, Carrier's popular "Cool Cash" promotion can provide rebates of up to $2,000 on qualifying equipment, making energy-efficient HVAC upgrades even more affordable.

Combined with lower operating costs and improved home comfort, these rebates make replacing aging heating and air conditioning systems an attractive investment.

Planning Today Pays Tomorrow

The common theme throughout all four presentations was simple: planning ahead can produce meaningful financial rewards. Whether through business tax credits, retirement planning, charitable giving strategies, renewable energy, plumbing upgrades, or high-efficiency HVAC systems, 2026 offers numerous opportunities to reduce costs while investing in the future.

EAOC continues to demonstrate the value of having trusted experts across a wide range of industries. This week's presenters not only shared their professional expertise but also equipped fellow members with practical knowledge that can help save thousands of dollars through available tax incentives and rebate programs.

VICE PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Happy Friday, EAOC!

This week’s EAOC meeting was packed with money-saving ideas and practical takeaways! Four of our members shared valuable tax credits, rebates, and incentive programs that could help both business owners and homeowners keep more money in their pockets in 2026.

Justin Hess of Tax & Financial Group highlighted opportunities such as new 401(k) tax credits, smarter charitable giving strategies, and the powerful benefits of Health Savings Accounts. Dan Herman of Solar Energy Partners showed how solar can reduce utility bills and add long-term value to a home. Ron Dymek of Dymek’s Freedom Plumbing explained rebates available for high-efficiency water heater upgrades, and Ann Schaefer of Schaef-Air shared additional savings opportunities for energy-efficient heating and cooling systems.

The energy in the room was fantastic because every presentation offered actionable ideas members could start exploring right away. The big takeaway? A little planning today can create substantial savings tomorrow. Meetings like this are a great reminder that EAOC is more than a networking group—it’s a community of trusted professionals helping one another succeed, save, and grow.

Remember, next week is an off-site meeting at Karyn Hadley's TS Design Center studio in Anaheim!  Details to follow by email.

See you next week!

- Gary

What People are Saying

In 2008, a former member gave a lead of a local private school. After my initial visit, they signed on as a client and ordered small orders regularly, every year. As they grew, so did their order size. And although the member has not been a member for several years, this client has accounted for a total revenue of $60,000 at very nice profit margins. We have built a very good relationship with the school, and expect they will continue to order much in the years to come.  An example of how EAOC keeps on working...The Lead that KEEPS ON GIVING!

Carlos Salazar, Salazar Associates

We receive thousands of dollars of business each year directly from our members, but more importantly, through our member's referrals.

Also, we have saved a significant amount of money on services and products our members offer. I am using or have used our CC merchant, our promotional member, our commercial insurance broker, our handyman, our Labor Law Attorney, our pest control company, our Fleet Vehicle dealer, our event center and restaurant member, our florist, our HVAC contractor, our Paving Contractor, our Glass and Shower Door member, our realtor, and have referred them to our friends and customers.

Ron Dymek, Dymek’s Freedom Plumbing

When I was invited to be a part of the EAOC, I had no idea that a “by invitation only” networking group existed. Well, we’ve been around since the early 70’s. And, what a great group of business associates we have.

Not only are these members excellent business owners that I can refer my clients to, they are an invaluable source of knowledge for me and my clients.

Often, merely providing information is just what was needed. These professionals are like my business partners, they are champions of my business as well as their own.

Joining this group of dedicated business professionals has been the key to my success and I’m happy to be a part of this fantastic group.

Gizi Clemmer, FirstTeam Real Estate

I joined EAOC because of a friend.  In my first year I have gained over 10k in continual annual business.

Quinton Fasola, ASURE Software

In the past 42 years I have received many good leads that have become good clients.  Many of them are still clients of the firm I am with today (This represented 50% of the clients that I merged into the new firm).  I have used many past and current members for a reliable source of good and reputable suppliers for both business and personal needs, including several members that helped me make profitable investments over the years.

Hal Grimshaw, Belden Hiramoto Liu & Co., LLP

I joined EAOC because Phil Kintz asked me. At the time the cost and early meeting time was a concern. The first six months of membership I received an extra $6000 in volume.

Gary Gregg, Creating With Glass

I have been a member for many years in several different classifications. EAOC has always provided me with a steady flow of leads. However the biggest benefit I’ve received has been “outside” of the core purpose of leads. A past member John Valentine, mentioned to me that he had heard about some industrial land for sale in Costa Mesa. I ended up buying it, building a warehouse and running my business at the time (South Coast Stationers) there for about thirty years. It was an excellent investment.

Pete Sloan,

A lead from Past member Bob Hardman eight years ago resulted in $15,000 of business. A lead from Mel Smith eight years ago resulted in $25,000 of business. Benefits of membership include direct business from other members resulting in $10,000 in business and direct business with other members that resulted in excellent service and financial savings.

Carlos Salazar, Salazar Associates

I have built my entire business on leads from the EAOC. I started my association management firm in 1981 with one client EAOC. In the last thirty four years the business has grown to fourteen associations. We employ eleven full time and one part time employee. I can trace ten of my long term clients to referrals from EAOC that brings in over $500,000 annually. The network of present and passed members has had a tremendous impact on my life.

Gayle Stewart, Gayle Stewart Enterprises

EAOC has been a reliable source of steady business for me for about thirty years. Thank You EAOC!

Pete Sloan
